Psychoeducational Assessment
A Snapshot of Skills and Abilities
A psychoeducational assessment can sound daunting. Typically, the evaluation consists of assessing cognitive abilities, IQ, and academic performance. However, these can also include an assessment of executive functioning abilities, emotional, and behavioral processes, as well as personal traits and social patterns. Information is obtained from various sources, such as observations, interviews, current and past medical records, school records, and previous psychophysiological evaluations.
Bilingual Psychoeducational Assessment
Standardized Spanish Assessment Tools
Many bilingual students are assessed in English only. At Esperanza, testing can be done in Spanish with standardized tools that include data and evidence to support their integrity. If your child can speak both English and Spanish, it's important to assess proficiency in order to present an accurate representation of their abilities. It is important to make assessments accessible to families that speak English and Spanish.
